Mariah was raised in an athletic family, where fitness and sports were valued heavily. Specifically, she grew up playing competitive soccer and softball. During her college years, she looked into yoga hoping for a good stretch and a way to mellow out from competitive sports. She immediately fell in love with yoga after her first class and later wanted to begin teaching to spread the magic! Mariah received her yoga teaching certificate from CorePower Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. Her personal approach to yoga is to provide a healthy yet tough workout. The beauty of yoga is that while you are strengthening your body, you can also strengthen your mind. Mariah also has a teaching certification in Tabata Boot Camp.
Mariah is originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland and now lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband, Dwight. She loves blue crabs, pizza, exercising, laughing, and bulldogs. Her name originates from the song, "They Call the Wind Mariah." She has a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Salisbury University.
